O.K. I'm a newbie.

And I'm SURE there's SOMETHING "Jedi" about this place. I've done some reading of posts, and many of you seem right on... but I haven't read anything about the Jedi or The Force. Maybe I'm not in the right place, or perhaps I haven't looked hard enough. Again, I'm a newbie, and right now a very, VERY tired one, jonesing to go to bed.

"Your focus determines your reality." --Qui Gonn Jinn

I've been breathing Star Wars since it's release when I was a boy. I've LIVED it, always in my heart. And always as a bit of a freak-- never taken seriously for sharing the Truths woven intrisictly in MY VERY BEING... Truths that George Lucus tapped me onto when I was 6. SIX YEARS OLD, Brothers and Sisters! Profound stuff! Understood beyond intellect... EVERYTHING is energetic. Consciousness has immense limitation, but the Higher Self/Spirit/Lifeforce percieves things FAR beyond the intellectual mind. I was 6. I understood.

And it's been an unfolding Proccess since then. The Way of the Jedi is in my heart, it's a part of who I am... it's shaped me towards becoming my Highest Vision.

SOOOOO... Like the scraming buzz of a lightsaber now lit, I now flash into this tribe with a new thread for The Message Board.

I ask you, fellow Tribemates, why did you join this Tribe of the Jedi Order, and how did Star Wars, The Force, or the Jedi come into your life, and what role does it play, if any?

A friend used her transformational technology on me once and called it a Jedi Mind Trick. The shit works. I got the training and now my Mitochlorian rate has increased exponentially. Now I use my Jedi Mind Tricks to bring about love and transformation all over my life.

She got me to go to Burning Man and have the best one ever, when I was convinced I wasn't going to go, with no cajoling or manipulating.

It's all about the Jedi Mind Tricks.

I study "magick" as a tool for affecting the universe. The first "law of magick" is the Law of Worldviews. I have twenty-seven rules in all that I have gathered from various places. They are very much like scientific theorums which apply to what most people consider metaphysical phenomena. I think if you read over it, you will agree the Law of Worldviews (and its two sublaws) directly applies to the control of reality.

    The Law of Worldviews:
The world we perceive is actually a mixture of the nominal world (the Tao, the objective reality that is unknowable but which underlies all that we think we know) and ourselves (the subjective). Changing your worldview does not change the eternal, real world, but it does change the world you perceive. That is, changing your worldview makes real changes in the world which is real to us. Because there are an infinite number of ways to perceive the world, there are also an infinite number of worlds we may assemble without awareness.

The true underlying reality is unknowable to us as long as we retain our worldview of separateness and self. You can become one with the universe but you cannot step back and observe it, because you are in it. You cannot observe a phenomenon without altering it by your mode of perception. There is no such thing as an independent observer. You participate in creating the world by perceiving it.

*The Law of Personal Universes* Every sentient being lives in and quite possibly creates a unique universe which can never be 100% identical to that lived in by another. So- called "reality" is a matter of consensus opinions.

*The Law of Infinite Universes* The total number of universes into which all possible combinations of existing phenomena could be organized is infinite. Anything is possible, though some things are more probable than others and so are easier to enact.

According to this law of magick, we live in a world of our own creation as well as an underlying or “real” world. Both worlds are real in as much as both affect us and our well-being, but the world you create through your perceptions is constantly changing based upon both the real world and your perception of it. Only your own personal world may be altered willfully. A good example of this is the use of positive affirmations. By convincing yourself of the possibility of change, you bring that change into being.

If you should manage to dissolve the illusion of separation from the nominal universe, you lose the ability to observe or alter because you have acknowledged you part in it. Attempting to alter reality immediately removes the observer to the mutable universe of perception and creation. It is only in the universes of our finite perception that changes may be put into effect because they are mutable, warped copies of the underlying universe which exists independent of our thoughts and perceptions.

Because the number of possibilities in any individual universe are infinite, so to are the types of phenomena you can cause through the application of will. However, since some phenomena are more probable than others, some will require less energy should you attempt to put them into effect. For instance, it would be easier to create a pig than a flying pig.

It is also difficult though not impossible for two (or more) people to agree upon the same phenomena. Creation of phenomena is easier with one observer (the self) and becomes successively more difficult the more (outside) observers are included. Should you manage to obtain the cooperation of other observers however, either in suspending their expectations or in focusing their wills on a joint project (through agreed upon symbolism), the bending of reality to the Will becomes easier than with only one observer/magi.

The Law of Worldviews is a valuable tool toward understanding the nominal universe and affecting the subjective universes of individuals. Application of this Law allows the creation or dispersal of energy in the form of phenomena through our selective perceptions and acceptance of possibility. If you believe you can see and communicate with fairies, angels, spirits, midichlorians, etc, then you will be able to by application of that worldview. If others share that worldview, they will be able to function partially within your world, and you within theirs. Shared perception creates a shared world through which you may affect each other. The shared world will become more real based upon the number of believers in that world. Thus if three out of four people believe enough in the presence of a spirit, they may be able to empower that entity to appear or cause phenomena the fourth non-believer may experience. It is not that we create a non-human entity (though it is possible to do so), but that we allow ourselves the option of perceiving it where others may prefer not to allow it into their personal worldview.

As for why I joined this tribe.... I felt I had something to contribute both through my study and innate talents. Proficient with a light saber I am not. I'd probably lose a limb.

jedi nods turn bows- Aranor and all other Jedi manifestations-
heart felt flow of "force" conception-
a valuable mythstory told in the present

i first saw star wars as a boy (one year old in a movie theatre!)

upon my quickening through a near death experience at age 15 i saw the films again after having dismissed them for several years- the relationship of what was forming as my world view and aspects of the alignment with the Way were deeply felt

Candace M your skills with the saber are expressed through the tools of your time- which seems to be a very lucid metaphormulation of consciencousness.

of your 27 laws has there been printing?

i am new to this tribe, but not to the Way-

i practice internal warrior arts, and some saber skills-

      at your service,

          thanks for the link-
a friend of mine recently responded to some of my writing efforts with an observation that we are writing for ourselves. that the process of writing is a personal journey or worse, a self indulgence.
of course, as a language addict my response was that i feel that to be true on the first layer. however i have read many things that broadened my perspective, or even helped me to clarify my own perspectives if i disagree. it is one of the only ways that we can culturally expand our minds, fuel for the i:magi:nation; )
it is with that intention that i thank you- for the perspectives that we draw from our experience help us to attempt that which is truly beyond description. i don't have any of my writing posted or printed yet . . .
most are drops that i have collected along the way,

          "balance is a resting place"

          bows in service,
          just~das

ps. Aranor- good spelling on the thread subject line ; )

            You're welcome :)

We do write for ourselves in as much as any artistic expression is for the self/ego first, even in as far as the ego is satisfied when others appreciate our effort. heh Writing is an often under-appreciated artistic expression. Everyone can write but not everyone can write well.

For myself, I take pleasure in words in all their forms. I'm an avid reader and writer. In one of my past lives, I was a bard. In this life, I am an "unplublished" writer and work in a bookstore. To me, a well written piece is like a painting in a gallery, while a badly written piece is like fingers on a chalkboard.

There is only one real use for words. As an acquaintance of mine brought up recently, all animals speak, but only man fixes time. How does he do that? Through words mankind can span great measures of time to share ideas with people hundreds of years in the future. This is how man grows and evolves. Though there is much to be said for the development of memory, use of the written word is similar to being able to add extra memory storage to your computer.

So keep writing. What seems a frivolous use of time today may save someone's sanity tomorrow.

MouseTrap-- Yes, indeed-- it's ALL so TRUE! The Jedi Mind Trick for ME, works within a place of surrender... beyond ego... where it is not ME who is DOING anything, so much as ALLOWING the intention to manifest with as LITTLE GUIDANCE AS POSSIBLE. Start controlling 'how', and you begin to bring in the intellectual, 'thinking' mind.

    Candace...

    Uhhh...

    <whew>

You said it. Friggin' eh, but There It Is. A well written piece-- thank you for the time it took you to write it. You surmised in very few words what may take me PAGES to write! And you spoke of a variety of things already known, but in a way that removed unnoticed veils in my Understanding that had previously kept them as seperate. Thank you for the cleansing breath. Muchly.

Sam Das-- YOU said it, in that last message. RIGHT ON, Brother! I think also that we write as a means to get OUT what we cannot fathom within... at least that applies to ME in my writing. I know (obviously) all the stuff I write about, but sometimes-- after it's all put together-- things make alot more sense and I feel more whole. Though usually it takes me FOREVER to find JUST the right words to fully convey my emotional experience, that the reader may best experience-- in that now-- reality as it is for me. Unfortunately, I'm oftentimes too wordy, and-- though presented in grammatical correctness-- the entire sequence of my multi-dimentional expression can loose people. You know?

    :?)
