Legalize Hemp and Cannabis in California

Hi Family,

Right now there are two competing signature drives to put cannabis legalization initiatives on the ballot in California for November 2010.

One is found at www.taxcannabis2010.org

The other is found at www.CaliforniaCannabisInitiative.org

Please look carefully at the text of both laws (the text of each is finalized at this point) and make up your own mind which one you support.

I am supporting www.CaliforniaCannabisInitiative.org because this law will protect cannabis users from discrimination in healthcare, employment, and housing. It is a full legalization measure for hemp and cannabis which will restore full human rights to cannabis users and growers all across California.

I have two parts to my plan. The first part is to publicly post and distribute our "Call to Arms" in order to recruit volunteers. This document is available here-

The second part of the plan is to ask everyone who volunteers to make a pledge for how many signature they will collect in the next 30 days or so. 15-30 signatures is a good number. You can probably get that number from your family members, friends, co-workers, and neighbors without having to solicit in public too much. This is an "out of the closet" movement. We will have to proudly advocate human rights for cannabis smokers in order to get support from legitimate people. I can supply stickers equivalent to each persons pledge number. These stickers can be used to generate interest and be given to people who sign the petition. Here is the sticker design-

We have 145 days in order to get the number of signatures that we need. Our petition is hot off the press on 9/11 and we are collecting the first signatures yesterday 9/12.

We are polling 56% public support for cannabis legalization in California, so this is an initiative which is not doomed. It's time has finally arrived. Now is the time to do this and to do it right. We may only get one chance. If a law which is not exactly what we want is implemented then we may lose our critical mass and our ability to set it right.

Why didn't Obi-wan kill Vader when he had the chance?

My confusion centres around why Obi-wan didn't kill Vader at the end of Episode III? I know that Jedis are supposed the seek diplomatic solutions and honor all life and bring criminals to trial but it seems to me against the Jedi code to leave Vader alive, suffering and all mangled up by the lava river.

Was he just so confused from all the fighting, etc.?

I really hope to see more of Boba, Han and Greedo and how the three end up the way that they do. I understand that this is suppose to be dealing in more peripheral characters, but it seem a little absurd to think that Lucas will ignore all the main characters.

So does anyone know anything new about where they stand or what?

Custom Saber Ideas

Hey all. Dante here. Unfortunately, it seems that Balance of Power is going to be halted until further notice, considering i've torn my ACL (Shouldnt be doing backflips on a bad knee.) and the fact that about three people dropped out of the production.

However, with all this newfound interest in Star Wars and Jedi, i've become quite the avid duelist. And, naturally, i'd like a saber (or apparently a couple of them) to choose from so i may duel with friends, family, and maybe even start a fan film of my own. Multiple sabers would certainly help with fan films, as well as allowing friends to borrow them if they needed a duelling blade.

So i've been coming up with some designs, and i wanted a bit of feedback. I've come up with four designs...well, ok. three designs; four sabers in all. (dear god is this gonna empty my wallet quickly.) I would love to hear what you all think of the designs; what you like about them, where there could be improvement, and maybe a couple of names would help too, considering i'm blanking on blade names these days.

The first two are my duel wielding sabers, but can also stand on their own, perhaps as master/padawan blades. The second design is much more sith-inspired. And the third is just to kinda round everything out, with a sort of sage-like consulor saber. Funny thing is, the last one was supposed to be a small, simple design, and ended up being the longest saber of the bunch, and will probably be one of the more difficult ones to build. But yeah, that's enough backstory, tell me what you think!

Hey all. Just wanted to bring this to your guys's attention. I'm a part of this Star Wars production (Live action, quasi-theatre/stunt group) called Balance of Power. So far there have been 2 episodes, and we are currently working on Episode 3. Again, this is a LIVE performance. No stops, no effects, no wires, no help of any kind. Just a buncha people with some swordfighting and acrobatic skills putting them to use.

Go ahead and rate the videos, tell your friends, and if you're in the California Bay Area, give me a message here, and you may be able to be part of this wonderful production. We're currently in production of Episode 3: A Force Undying. We could use all the help we can get. You know its funny i just got into an argument over that. You see, some
people claim
that Halos originate with sun worship. This is false. Halos originate with
judiaic mysticism,
and artists drawing circles around peoples heads were not always drawing
halos.

I am a highly eclectic world religions studier, and i can tell you its
wonderful to find
crossovers and assorted proofs that some native culture was doing something
first.
However, Halos are indigenous to Judaic mysticism, don't let anybody tell
you different.

What the traditions of native people help with is the addition of Chakras,
so that we
can understand that the Halo is an operational condition of seventh chakra.

The rest of the most useful information comes from esoteric Judaism.

I'm PdxDruid. I want to invite you all to a really awesome 3D chat
messenger. I have alot of Pagan friends there & been drawing many
from other areas on the Net to there. I'm hoping to create a really
strong Pagan presence there. When you join through my link you will
automatically be added to my Buddy list. This will help you find other
Pagans here as almost every single person in my Buddy list is Pagan of one
flavor or another. Heres a run down of how to earn credits here to buy stuff.
When you join they start you off with a 1,000 credits (Credits is our virtual currency).
The main ways to earn credits is to invite folks. When someone first accepts
a invite from you, you earn 500 credits then another 500 credits when they have their
first chat. They give you credit when they hit their 5th chat and others too
but I haven't kept up on how many. LOL Anyway if they buy their name ($7.95)
you get 2,500 credits. NOTE: You don't need to buy your name if you don't want to.
If you don't then you just end up stuck with the word Guest in front of your name.
Alot of folks have guest in front of their name & been here since the beginning.
Also Guest have little ads on there homepage. No biggy. The benefits of buying
your name is it drops the Guest from name, drops the ads from your homepage.
Allows you to download the Developer program & become a
Developer and design & sell clothes & other stuff in the catalog and
a few other things I haven't really learned yet. But mainly unless you
want to be a Developer you don't need to buy your name unless you don't
like Guest in front of your name. One of my friends I invited husband
bought her the full adult access pass & I got 10,000 credits. Adult
Access allows you to buy adult mature stuff like nudity skins and stuff.
So unless you like doing rituals online Skyclad or (LOL) a real flirt
you don't need it. LOL You can buy credits but unless you are loaded
why bother? You can earn plenty just by inviting folks and its a great
way to make friends as well. Speaking of Rituals online. No one is
doing this yet here & one of my good friends is a Developer & I'm
learning to be a Developer. Me & her are working on creating ritual
scenes/themes so folks can do ritual online. Great for those who are
in secluded places or don't have other Pagans in their area to work
with and like to even if it is online, experience ritual with others.
I have a Stonehenge Theme that has a Ritual/council like lodge & hold
little workshop discussions within it. Its a great little lodge to do
Druidic 101 or Wicca 101 classes in also. I also have a Redwoods Theme
and I just did a cyber handfasting in it for 2 and that was kinda cool.
Their Avatars were all dressed up for it & mine wore its celtic robe
and deer antlers on his head (This avatar is temporarly down and I'm
using my PdxDruid one). LOL There are alot of cool Pagan themes
already but they are mainly Pagan social themes. Like the Wiccan
Retreat Cafe & the Goddess Cabin. 2 of my favorite. The first time I
chat with you its in the Cafe. The Cafe can seat like 12 people so its
kinda cool though its still in Beta and can usually only get 3 avatars
to appear in it though I did have up to 7 Avatars in there once. They
are busy working out the kinks though and many I have invited love it
enough they willing to deal with the little quirks. LOL Anyway when
you join and I'm on I spend my first chat with you teaching you how
to control your Avatar and to get to know you then set you loose to
have fun and explore. If I'm not online when you join just click Chat
now & someone will pop up and help you. If you get a newbie learn what
you can then say thank you and try Chat now again till you get someone
whose gotten good at it.
You can also click my homepage in your Buddy list & there you will
fine my buddy list and it will show you who is online (this is great
if you perfer to have a fellow Pagan help you rather than a random

According to Drudge, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has recently enjoyed a little Broadway entertainment. And Page Six reports that she’s also working on her backhand with Monica Seles. So the Gulf Coast has gone all Mad Max, women are being raped in the Superdome, and Rice is enjoying a brief vacation in New York. We wish we were surprised.

What does surprise us: Just moments ago at the Ferragamo on 5th Avenue, Condoleeza Rice was seen spending several thousands of dollars on some nice, new shoes (we’ve confirmed this, so her new heels will surely get coverage from the WaPo’s Robin Givhan). A fellow shopper, unable to fathom the absurdity of Rice’s timing, went up to the Secretary and reportedly shouted, “How dare you shop for shoes while thousands are dying and homeless!” Never one to have her fashion choices questioned, Rice had security PHYSICALLY REMOVE the woman.

Angry Lady, whoever you are, we love you. You are a true American.

He claims yesterday at 5pm, finally, that he's going to be devoting his entire administration to saving the lives of the people currently dying in this growing national disaster. And what does a top member of his cabinet do? She goes to a Broadway comedy and today is buying multi-thousand-dollar shoes on 5th Avenue at the same time CNN is showing dead grandmothers in wheelchairs abandoned on the streets of New Orleans.

This is more than just a cheap shot at Condi. What in the blazes is this woman doing at a Broadway show in the middle of a national emergency? This is akin to going to a Broadway show in the middle of September 11. Don't we expect the Secretary of State to work past 5pm on a day an entire American city is being wiped off the face of the planet? And shouldn't she be doing something else today than shopping at filthy rich stores on 5th Avenue? Could she be - oh, I don't know - working with foreign leaders, like the Mexicans, to see what immediate assistance they can offer to the neighbor?

New Orleans is ceasing to exist. What in God's name is Bush doing letting his secretary of state go on vacation in the middle of this?

Good is the creation of harmony, the crystilazation of an ideal, pattern, concept. A crystal is solid and can withstand the tests of time. But what happens when that crystal is formed with a flaw? Or if the parts that make up the crystal can be put to better use elsewhere?

That is where evil comes in...the dark side. It is only the evil that can destroy that which has been crystilized in reality. It is the evil that breaks apart the gem so taht it may reform into something greater...or simply something different. With out the darkside, the jedi counsel would still be removed from the masses. Sitting high in their towers, growing weaker and rotting from within. IT is this darkness that paved the way for the new jedi council to form. For new levels of the force to be found and understood. With out this darkness...all would be lost...crystilized for eternity....stagnent.

Yet it is the Lightside which reforms these fragments, joins them anew to create a better manifestation of the whole. And the dance continues....perfect.

Genetic flaw

Has anyone found it humorous that in ep. IV there is a trooper that hits his head on the door when chasing Han and Chewie? This was originally a slip in the editing, but it was unfortunately un-cutable. What I mean is that the pace of that scene is just so that it would have been very noticeable had they cut it out.

So what did they do to remedy this little editing flaw? Why they did what all good story tellers do they improvised.

When they were filming ep. II they show Jango getting into "Slave 1" and hitting his head on the hatch door and they als ogave him a scare for it. You'll notice that the Clones, Boba and Jango all have a scare on their forheads.

All of this for a simple little thing that could not be cut out of an earlier episode.

Ahhhhhh... Great to be come back to the Tribe after a hyatis and see it thriving with such awesome posts!

First I must say that-- I can totally understand how some may see the Midichlorian Thing as demystifying the zen-like ambiance of the Force with scientific concepts-- though I must say that I, personally, was never thrown off by it, but immediately was absorbed even stronger INTO it. To me it only made sense, really-- the whole symbiosis thing... reciprocity... "Lifeforms working together for mutual advantage". To me it never seemed scientific, but even MORE mystical, really... Higher Reality stuff.

All Living Things ARE a part of the Universe. "Luminous beings are we... not this crude matter". All matter is TRULY moving vibrations of energy-- this is FACT... Quantum Reality. Nothing is truly SOLID... we and Everything are mostly... something other than solid. And from a scientific standpoint we really haven't been able to define the "space" between each atom that buzzes in orbit around a nucleus within a molecule that makes up a strand of DNA within the nucleus of a cell existing in an organ of a complex biological system within each living being on any planet which orbits similarly to (a) sun(s) which spiral in only a single galaxy that itself is spinning and changing in an expanding and contracting universe. It boggles the mind, but All things are truly connected, AND...

To me, Midichlorians just add ANOTHER dimention of thought and mystery to the Force... They DEEPEN my spirituality with the Force. It is MY understanding that Midichlorians are not limited to the number that one is born with. Now follow me on this one...

Energy resonates-- which means similar waves attract to each other... An individual then attracts what (s)he puts out, and focuses his/her consciousness on. "Your focus determines your reality". "Be mindful of your thoughts". One common instance in which this can be seen is the destructive way that the Dark Side may scar those who wield such powers.

I believe that yes, some people may indeed be born with higher Midichlorian counts than other people (particularly legendary figures of power, especially children of immaculate conception). But, to me, it seems clear that if one continues to act in a way that nurtures thier Highest, then those higher vibrations will be what is recieved. And acting in a way that feeds our lowest will attract lower vibrations.

And it can grow exponentially... aquiring more ability to tap and use the Force as a RESULT of using it. Now since we seem to channel the Force THROUGH the Midichlorians-- then the more Force proficient we are, the more Midichlorians we have-- and thus have willfully ATTRACTED into or BIRTHED within ourselves.

If we excercize compassion, peace, and righteousness, then THAT is what we resonate with, and thus become MORE of.

If we excercize intollerance, conflict, and selfishness, then THAT is what we resonate with, and thus become MORE of.

All the natural Laws of the Universe-- or The Force-- still apply: Causes lead to effects, and-- even WITHOUT upholding cultural human peerceptions of "Good" vs "Bad"-- certain intentions and actions simply attract or create peace and focus and healing, and certain other intentions and actions attract or create agitation and seperation and dis-ease.

The Power of The Force may be felt by those who have the Will (and perhaps an Opening to learn new beliefs that awaken oneself to empowerment) and focus of mind to plug into it the Flow that "surrounds us, penetrates us, and binds the galaxy together". That which "controls our actions, but also obeys our commands".

For me, it's not an interpretation of a Star Wars concept. It's a realisation of a Truth that I, for one, KNOW for myself, as it IS my reality, and I believe, too, that it is equally a reality for all of you. I see the power to BE the Jedi that you ARE existing RIGHT NOW-- if not in full-bloom then perhaps blossoming, or at least as a Seed of Possibility that DOES exist Here and Now within each of us. Perhaps I've lost some readers by this point (Boy, can I babble deeeeep stuff... and I can babble Star Wars!), or perhaps some of you already know of what I speak. For those who have read this far and STILL think it's quantum-hippy psychobabble, then I at least thank you for expanding your mind into a new direction for a few moments, and I invite you to ask yourself what ways the Midichlorian theory DOES tie into what you love about the Good Ol' Force. You'll probably discover some correllations of your very own!

Djedi

A friend of mine has been working on startng a academy based on the trainings of the Jedi. Only George Lucas loves money so there is no using the name"Jedi."
Thanks to Ormungander(OM108X) I suggested the origin of the name. Djedhi. The were the high preists of egypt and on their way to becomeing ascendant masters, and the djed pillar is a symbol of stability and regeneration. I interpret regeneration as a form of imortality.

Now researching it more I found very little use of the actuall word/name Djedhi or Djedi. More than anything it was Djed or the city of Djedu. One Djed wizard was told to have been able to resurect the dead. He refused to demonstrate on a slave, so instead killed and animal(a sheep I think) and brought it back to life.

I am asking for any assistance, advice, teachings, comments, recomendations, and anything that can help further this intention along it's path. I will let you all know more as it progresses.

Penari Saber: Fact or Fiction

Is the Penari Saber part of the Star Wars Universe, or is it just a random piece of Fan Fiction not recognized by George Lucas?

For those unfamilar with the Penari Saber, it was suppose to have been invented 2000 years before Phantom Menace. Built by Jedi scientist Crutus Penari. This yellow bladed saber was said to be able to cut through other lightsabers, and was ultamtely ordered to be dismantled because the Jedi Council of that time found it to be too much of a threat.

Dose anyone know of what story, novel, or comic book the Penari Saber origionated from, or is it just some piece of fan-fiction that is by no means cannon in the Star Wars Universe.

The concept of a lightsaber cutting through another saber fasinates me. How would it function? Dose it disrupt the energy flow of a normal lightsber, causing the Penari to slip through a normal energy blade? Thus would it be useless to block with because as the Penari passes through the other blade, that other blade would be left unaffected and intact as it continues it's arc towards you. Try to do an over head block as the Penari slips through the other blade. ouch

Or.... dose the Penari so Severly disrupt a normal blade that it causes the other blade to shut down, thus damaging the lightsaber by causing some kind of energy feedback frying the electronic innards of the saber.

Any ideas? Dose anyone know anything about it?

The DJED COLUMN

Appearance: The djed is an Egyptian symbol that is depicted as a column with a broad base and capital. At the top of the column the capital is divided by four parallel bars. The image has been interpreted in several ways. It is said to be:

four pillars, seen one behind the other
a man's, or Osiris' backbone
a Syrian cedar with its branches removed
the pole around which sheaves of grain were tied
History: Osiris was originally an agricultural deity from Syria. When his followers immigrated to Egypt, they brought with them their fetish (cult object). Their fetish was the djed and they named their city after it, "Djedu". As the popularity of Osiris grew, so did the djed's appearance in art, especially in tombs. The djed was often painted on the bottom of coffins where the deceased's backbone would rest. The djed was also often created as an amulet of stability and regenerative power.

In Old Kingdom times, the djed was associated with the chief god of Memphis, Ptah, who was called the "Noble Djed."

The Djed Pillar Festival was a cultic celebration of the symbol and its powers. It was held annually in Egypt and was a time of great spiritual refreshment for the people. The priests raised the djed pillar on the first day of shemu (the season of harvest on the Nile). The people then paid homage to the symbol and conducted a mock battle between good and evil. Oxen were driven around the walls of the capital, honoring the founding of the original capital, Memphis.

Meaning: The djed column was the Egyptian symbol of "stability". It was the symbol of the tree that grew around Osiris's casket and was used as a pillar in a Byblos palace. The djed was considered necessary to aid in the transformation of human flesh into the spiritual form assumed by the deceased in eternity.

great disturbance in the force

I feel there's been a great disturbance in the force.

After leaving episode III I felt out of balance and ill for three days. It was not because the film ended on a down note. That was inevitable. After meditating on it I've concluded that:

GEORGE LUCAS has gone to the dark side.

Why, I haven't clarity at this time. But maybe some of you have. There were always the rumors that it was not his brilliance that created episode IV at all, but perhaps stolen from Alan Dean Foster. This is a lot more believable now. There is no way that episode IV and III are from the same spirit in any way.

Let alone insulting any true fans with the numerous inconsistencies in III. I shouldn't go into it all, but an obvious one was Leah's conversation with Luke where she claims to remember her mother being very beautiful and sad, etc. Oh yeah, we're supposed to accept she got that 75 seconds after birth. I could continue, but it is unnecessary.

The true give away is that Lucas paints an entirely weak and pathetic image of the Jedi, their ability, power, and use of the force throughout episode III.

It's hard to believe it was pure Hollywood glamor that drove him to do it. He must have read the reports of hundreds of thousands of people world wide who claimed Jedi as their religion on census forms. As well as the well known reality that for many people the fleshing out of the concepts of the Force has become their true connection to their own personal power and an opening to their spirituality. Lucas has to be aware of the intense influence the Star Wars saga has had on the collective spirituality of the species.

So why did he do it? Why did he make the much anticipated seduction of Anakin Skywalker to the dark side so weak and pathetic. This one soul turning is going to make quite an impact on their entire galaxy, he annihilates Alderon, etc. Let me get this straight Anakin turns to Darth Vader because of a nightmare? That's it. WEAK!!! His diluted shift to the dark side made jedi look weak, made the force seem like a set of mind games, it makes the dark side look like no real threat. What type of emotion did this evoke in his audience. Not a lot. I was groaning, with "Oh, please, how pathetic" disappointment. Now when Anakin slaughtered an entire tribe of Sand people after his mother dying in his arms, that was more believable. Each member of the audience could question their own feelings, and wonder if they too would have done the same. But a nightmare with no real detail, who could relate?

What about Padme? What was Lucas's intention there? Her character was developed as strong, intense, sworn to duty, and very much like a Jedi herself. Now what is the image Lucas leaves us with? Pathetic, absolutely pathetic, and out of character. Lucas has her die of nothing. A broken heart, how pathetic. Padme, Leah and Luke's mother who served her duties with all her soul. We're supposed to accept that she just "loses the will to live" while being called to the highest duty any woman ever could be, motherhood. She names them without hesitation, and then rolls over will less and dies of nothing. Was Lucas trying to make us sick? Leah remembers her mother, Padme was also strong with the Force. Well, not any more! Lucas just rewrote history and made it ugly, spirit less, and pathetic.

What about the numerous Jedi he showed being taken out by a few cloned storm troopers. Like they wouldn't have felt the shift and seen it coming. Lucas didn't even have the decency to have thousands taking down each Jedi. Since when do storm troopers take out main characters anyway. They had been shown previously as hardly able to hit a target the size of a barn. Let's all forget that Obi Wan said that Darth Vader assisted the Emperor in hunting down and destroying the Jedi, not a few storm troopers. Why would Lucas now choose to make the Jedi look so weak, unintuitive, and pathetic?

Tell me anyone left the theater sympathizing with Anakin or Padme. I bet most people left feeling weak and nauseated the way I did. Lucas let down his true fans. He also let down those who considered Star Wars a true awakening to our inner power and spirituality, those who are developing the force, or who live or practice in the ways and faith of the Jedi.

I've had to exert personal energy to try to shift my emotions continuously since the 19th of May. My judgment has been clouded with hateful emotions... I just can't see at this time why he did it.

If this sounds like an exaggeration, or a bit over doing it. I ask you what image of Jedi you left the theater with? How did you feel? I invite you to search your feelings.

Bad News for diversity in movies... AMC, and Carlyle Group owned Loews Cineplex To Merge

Will Have Interests In About 450 Theaters

Movie theater chains AMC Entertainment Inc. and Loews Cineplex Entertainment Corp. said Tuesday they plan to merge, and will be led by current AMC Chairman, CEO and President Peter C. Brown.

The new company will be called AMC Entertainment Inc. and will be headquartered in Kansas City. The combined entity will own, manage or have interests in about 450 theaters in 30 states and 13 countries. An integration committee will be formed in which Travis E. Reid, president and CEO of New York-based Loews Cineplex, and Brown will serve as co-chairs.

The merger agreement also provides for the merger of AMC's and Loews' holding companies. In late 2004, a group of private investors purchased AMC, the nation's second-largest theater chain, for about $2 billion. Bain Capital, Carlyle Group and Spectrum Equity Investors acquired Loews Cineplex from Onex Corp. and Oaktree Capital Management in 2004 for $1.5 billion.

Michael L. Savner, an analyst with Banc of America Securities, said in a research note that the merger "makes sense ... given the similar urban focus of both companies and the benefits that can be achieved through economies of scale."

Savner said the nation's largest movie theater chain, Regal Entertainment Group, and the third-largest chain, Carmike Cinemas Inc., focus on different markets than AMC and Loews, so he does not expect "meaningful competitive implications."

And although Hollywood has been experiencing its longest box-office decline in 20 years, Savner said he expects trends to improve in the second half of the year.

AMC spokeswoman Pam Blase said the industry always has ups and downs.

"It's safe to say we're in a down cycle right now, but it will go up again and we will be there with a very strong company," Blase said.

She could not say if the merger would result in theater closings or layoffs, saying those details would be determined in the next several months.

Marquee Holdings, which is controlled by JP Morgan Partners and Apollo Management affiliates, will continue as the holding company for the merged businesses. Bain, Carlyle and Spectrum - stockholders of LCE Holdings - will own about 40 percent of the new holding company.

The companies said they plan to refinance their senior credit facilities in connection with the closing of the merger. The merger will not constitute a change of control for the outstanding senior notes of Marquee Holdings Inc. or the outstanding senior notes or senior subordinated notes of AMC Entertainment Inc.

AMC and Loews said they expect the merger to close within six to nine months, subject to antitrust approval and financing completion. Financial details of the deal weren't disclosed.

In 2004, AMC reported a loss of $10.7 million on revenue of $1.78 billion. The company currently owns more than 230 theaters with about 3,500 screens. Loews Cineplex, the oldest theater circuit in North America, has about 2,100 screens at 200 theaters worldwide.

Blase said the merged company will own, manage or have interests in theaters in 14 countries: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China (Hong Kong), France, Japan, Mexico, Portugal, South Korea, Spain, the United Kingdom, the U.S. and Uruguay.

So observes Queen Amidala of Naboo as the galactic senate grants dictator-to-be Palpatine sweeping new powers in his crusade against the Jedi in the final "Star Wars" movie opening this week.

It's just one of several lines in "Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith," that reveal the movie to be more than just a sci-fi blockbuster and gargantuan cultural phenomenon.

"Revenge of the Sith," it turns out, can also be seen as a cautionary tale for our time -- a blistering critique of the war in Iraq, a reminder of how democracies can give up their freedoms too easily, and an admonition about the seduction of good people by absolute power.

Some film critics suggest it could be the biggest anti-Bush blockbuster since "Fahrenheit 9/11."

New York Times movie critic A.O. Scott gives "Sith" a rave, and notes that Lucas "grounds it in a cogent and (for the first time) comprehensible political context.

" 'Revenge of the Sith' is about how a republic dismantles its own democratic principles, about how politics becomes militarized, about how a Manichaean ideology undermines the rational exercise of power. Mr. Lucas is clearly jabbing his light saber in the direction of some real-world political leaders. At one point, Darth Vader, already deep in the thrall of the dark side and echoing the words of George W. Bush, hisses at Obi-Wan, 'If you're not with me, you're my enemy.' Obi-Wan's response is likely to surface as a bumper sticker during the next election campaign: 'Only a Sith thinks in absolutes.' "

Agence France Presse reports that the movie delivers "a galactic jab to US President George W. Bush."

It's been generating "murmurs at the parallels being drawn between Bush's administration and the birth of the space opera's evil Empire."

Are some people reading too much into the movie?

Filmmaker George Lucas insists that the genesis of his story dates back 30 years. But he pointed out that certain themes do seem to repeat themselves, whether here and now or a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

Bruce Kirkland writes in the Toronto Sun: "Star Wars is a wakeup call to Americans about the erosion of democratic freedoms under George W. Bush, filmmaker George Lucas said yesterday.

"Lucas, responding to a question from the Sun at a Cannes Film Festival press conference, said he first wrote the framework of Star Wars in 1971 when reacting to then U.S. President Richard Nixon and the on-going events of the Vietnam War. But the story still has relevance today, he said, and is part of a pattern he has noticed in his readings of history.

" 'I didn't think it was going to get quite this close,' he said of the parallels between the Nixon era and the current Bush presidency, which has been sacrificing freedoms in the interests of national security. 'It is just one of those re-occurring things. I hope this doesn't come true in our country. Maybe the film will awaken people to the situation of how dangerous it is.' "

David Germain writes for the Associated Press: "Lucas never mentioned the president by name but was eager to speak his mind on U.S. policy in Iraq, careful again to note that he created the story long before the Bush-led occupation there.

" 'When I wrote it, Iraq didn't exist,' Lucas said, laughing.

Marijke Rowland writes in the Modesto Bee: "Lucas' longtime producer Rick McCallum insists that the resemblances are coincidental.

" '(The film) was started well before we even knew this disaster was going to happen,' he said, referring to Iraq war.

"Scottish actor Ian McDiarmid, who plays the evil mastermind Chancellor Palpatine, who installs himself as emperor, said the film manages to reflect modern events while addressing timeless themes.

" 'It is a film about how easily (freedom) can disappear, how easily we can all be seduced into surrendering it while thinking we're having a good time,' he said. 'It chimes with the zeitgeist.'

Adds McDiarmid: "It's a film that reflects contemporary events, but it is a film. Enjoy the metaphor."

The tribe's description made me think about an international orginzation dedicated to promoting the ideals listed.

-- charity
-- volunteer work
-- political solutions

A single organization which can voice all one's social concerns sans religion. In fact I can think of only a few international orginizations that are not religion related. Let's say for instance that I would like to get involved in some volunteer work and be sure that my charity contributions are not misused and be involved in penning a solution to campaign finance reform. Imaginge an organization which provides me the structure and quidance to accomplish all these goals. Think globally act locally........ "Keep you concentration here and now where it belongs --- But master yoda said I should be mindful of the future"

Use the Star Wars popularity to get attention and start with a Jedi Creed to establish the goals of the organization. It's basically an organization of people who are not soley motivated by self-intest but rather best for society.

according to a book I've read called Mind of the Ninja by Kirtland C. Peterson, the ninja actually find truth in the darkness inside themselves. They try to explore the darker sides of life without losing their "inner flame" that keeps them - themselves. They do this for personal power and understanding and as a tool.

This seems completely different compared to the jedi who maybe almost suppress their emotion and darker sides. Anakin obviously wasnt able to and did gain alot of personal power as Darth Vader. He also lost his "inner" flame, at least for a very long time.

Any thoughts? I just sort of liked this view alot more than being good all the time.

Anakin was prophecized to be the one who will bring balance to the force, right? I've been thinking a lot about what that meant. By the time episode IV come out there are only two Sith, the Emperor and Vader, and only two Jedi, Yoda and Obi-wan. That seems to be, in a way, more balanced than hundreds of Jedi and only two Sith. Then there is the universe of the old republic, which does shift from a seemingly balanced world of light and dark, to a strictly controlled universe of the dark side. What balance was he supposed to bring, because deating all the Sith would certainly unbalance it all as well.

What's the word Jedi?

To help spread the word about our light sabers, helmets, blasters and other prop replicas, I'm organizing marketing efforts in US cities. We’re planning sweepstakes, discounts, giveaways and special events - all with Stormtroopers and Jedi escorting our street reps.

Action Hero Training Camp in Mexico

In 2000, I experienced a trial of thirst and pain blazing a trail on the Mountain of Death... which led to a vision and a divine opportunity that I want to share with you.

Contemplating death by dehydration on a pathless mountainous mess of thorn bushes, I bargained with the universe to let me live, promising to devote my life to creating a learning center that would teach appreciation for the simplest of things, such as clean drinking water, peace, freedom and friendship.

In 2002, I made a trail up the mountain of Death, lead five boys from the village of Roblito to the top and made a video doc of the adventure for them to enjoy. They lived close to the mountain, but nobody from the village had ever climbed it.

Seed, an art teacher from Louisiana, joined me and we taught art classes in Roblito. We picked up litter scattered around the village, juggled, walked tight rope, caught fish, took pictures and visited the beach. This was the first Action Hero Training Camp.

The next three steps:

#1. The Action Hero Network is a catalyst connecting people and resources for forming collective efforts to create community centers and common spaces.

#2. Action Hero Training Camp brings together talented and inspiring individuals to teach skills and get stoked on mission-focused educational adventures and environmental awareness.

#3. The Roblito Community Center for Cultural Exchange becomes a seasonal eco-village/retreat providing learning and leisure opportunities people of all income levels.

Until recently, I’ve called this project The FAR OUT School. Now I realize this title is too narrow. The FAR OUT School is a journey I’ve created for myself, where I am the principal and the student. I think of being in school as a state of mind, one of openness, curiosity, and exploration, so as long as I am seeking, I am in school. This is the quest I am on…. this is my question. I want to learn how do we make education more fun and purposeful.

The Action Hero Network vision is to promote self-directed learning through action and community involvement. It is the U of You. You get out of it… whatever you put into it. What’s the quest ya on …your question ...your mission?

I invite you to join me and other fun loving friends in Roblito this winter, between New Years and March break… to create your school! We’ll work on our Action Hero-self, wear capes and fuzzy clothes, develop our powers, meet peaceful people, play with kids, make art from trash, sleep in tree house hammocks like monkeys, spend very little money, find quiet places, sing and dance around a fire, swim in waves and water ski, and through all this… create at curriculum connecting natural cycles and community needs. This is the vision that gives me purpose.

I'll be leaving LA around Christmas, driving down to Roblito via Tucson. There is room in my car. Meggio will also drive her van down from San Francisco if there are enough passengers to pay for gas. Taking the bus to Roblito from Tucson costs $70. You can also fly into Mazatlan, and bus south for $10.

some advice please for a wandering Jedi

I've dreamed of traveling for a while now. My soul never loved the corporate world working at Geico and I freed myself. Took off to Arizona, travled around for a few weeks. Moved back to VA to care for my Mom. She's all better after a few months now i'm back on the road. While I was in VA I had a great opportunity working for Intregal Yoga a very new age openminded store. I purchased a full seven bowl crystal singing bowl set. They are incredible for meditation and I hope to share them in my travels. I also met a really awsome woman online while searching where I wished to travel. So I left for a week and ended up meeting this woman in Salt Lake. No... she's not mormon hehe .
She is a really cool chick I dig her and i've been here for the past couple weeks living with her. Split rent with her which did hurt my budget as i've not yet found a job. Ultimately I feel like she's kinda drawn me into a serious relationship i'm not ready for. I've tried to talk to her and shes come at me with some serious reactions. She showed me how big of a bitch she can be which she admits... Virgos... /sigh. But I don't think I can deal with that or really want that.
Let me shut up now and get to it...

I believe my lifes mission is to serve. God... the Tao... Humanity... whatever. I'm very spiritual no particular denomination if I had to pick I would be Taoist. In meditation I am constantly reminded my mission is to be selfless. This is something i'm slowly growing into and is amazing. The bowls helped me a lot allowing me to really help and share something with people. Now I want to further my selflessness, letting go of my ego, building on my future skills as an artist. I'm ready to travel if needs be or stay in Salt Lake. I don't think i'm meant to be with this woman which I will tell her shortly.
If you have any advice of some great places, communities, monestaries, schools, or a couch to lend? I think i'd like to continue west as i've never been to California. I also really wanna see Montana, Oregon, Washington... ok hell I wanna go everywhere.

the power of star wars mythology

what is it about the star wars stories that can have such a real, powerful impact? i have had to put in a lot of effort to like and appreciate the last two movies, but even so, the power of the stories seems to be able to burst out of the confines of sometimes uncomfortable quantaties of squirming and groan-worthy movie minutes. the story that the prequels are struggling to express can still inspire passion and inspiration and creativity and change.

Luke's decisions

when luke was on dagobah and about to save his friends, obi-wan and yoda advised him not to go and that it would destroy everything they had worked for for. What did this mean exactly? I have been thinking about it.

Also I thought that maybe Luke taking his own decisions into his own hands was part of what made him a Jedi. the fact that he thought for himself - in doing the right thing. Maybe thats what makes up a Jedi. There are probably basic codes of conduct for jedi...but maybe its up all to the person to make the right decisions to help others.

How can children understand this plot, but adults can't get it when our own government has been caught using the same Hegelian tactic (September 11)? Read below for a description from the Star Wars website about how the emperor came into power and compare it to what our own government is doing:

"Palpatine's term as Chancellor ended during the rise of the Separatists, but that crisis allowed him to extend his stay in office. Once the Clone Wars erupted, the Senate's inability to efficiently wage war on scattered fronts forced him to enact executive decree after executive decree. He added amendments to the constitution funneling more power to him, effectively circumventing the bureaucracy of the Senate.

The public and the Senate willingly gave up their rights and freedoms in the name of security. Under Palpatine's guidance, the war would be won, and the Republic would be safe. The monstrous specter of General Grievous leading an assault ensured that few questioned Palpatine's growing authority.

The Jedi Council was among the wary. As an instrument of the Senate and the people, the Jedi order resisted Palpatine's direct control. This tension grew as the war escalated. Some in the Senate also quietly whispered their misgiving. Palpatine knew of a delegation of concerned Senators, and he would deal with them in time.

Palpatine instituted a military build-up unprecedented in galactic history. He created the New Order, a Galactic Empire that ruled by tyranny. The Jedi Knight s, his biggest threat, were extinguished by his greatest dark side pupil: Anakin Skywalker, who had become Darth Vader .

During the Galactic Civil War, Palpatine ruled with an iron fist. He disbanded the Imperial Senate, and passed control down to the regional governors and the military."

O.K. I'm a newbie.

And I'm SURE there's SOMETHING "Jedi" about this place. I've done some reading of posts, and many of you seem right on... but I haven't read anything about the Jedi or The Force. Maybe I'm not in the right place, or perhaps I haven't looked hard enough. Again, I'm a newbie, and right now a very, VERY tired one, jonesing to go to bed.

I've been breathing Star Wars since it's release when I was a boy. I've LIVED it, always in my heart. And always as a bit of a freak-- never taken seriously for sharing the Truths woven intrisictly in MY VERY BEING... Truths that George Lucus tapped me onto when I was 6. SIX YEARS OLD, Brothers and Sisters! Profound stuff! Understood beyond intellect... EVERYTHING is energetic. Consciousness has immense limitation, but the Higher Self/Spirit/Lifeforce percieves things FAR beyond the intellectual mind. I was 6. I understood.

And it's been an unfolding Proccess since then. The Way of the Jedi is in my heart, it's a part of who I am... it's shaped me towards becoming my Highest Vision.

The Venus Transit of June 8, 2004 is clearly the astronomical event of the
year. But it may be much, much more than that. The Venus Transit has always
preceded great breakthroughs in human consciousness and played a very
significant role in the Mayan Calendar. It is also a turning point in the
Vedic tradition. According to the Indian avatar of enlightenment, Sri Kalki
Bhagavan, the Venus Transit of 2004 will be the actual starting point of the
Golden Age, a process that will come to an conclusion at the next Venus
Transit in 2012. This article presents the significance of the Venus transit
on June 8, 2004 in its larger context and in relation to the Mayan Calendar.
It is also an invitation to take part of a global celebration of this event
called the Oneness Celebration.
The purpose of this article is to describe the role of the Oneness
Celebration at the Venus transit on June 8, 2004 in its larger context. This
will clearly be the "astronomical event of the year". To begin with, a Venus
transit is an astronomical event where the planet Venus passes between the
Earth and the sun - a sort of eclipse. Venus transits lasts for 6-7 hours
and come in pairs separated by exactly 8 earth years minus two days. As far
as human measures go such pairs of transits occur only rarely.
Below is a list of the years of the most recent occurrences, where the
second transit in the pair is given within parentheses:
1518 (1526)
1631 (1639)
1761 (1769)
1874 (1882)
2004 (2012)
Since there is no person alive today who was born in 1882 or earlier the
Venus transit in 2004 will be everyone's first such experience. What may we
then expect from this occurrence? To find out it is certainly worth studying
what happened in the world earlier in the first of these pairs of transits.
We may then note that 1518 was when the first circumnavigation of the globe
by Magellan/del Cano was launched (they set sail in 1519). The impact on the
minds of people of this accomplishment was enormous. Through their journey
these captains had shown in practice that the world was not flat, but
spherical. In the following years a new world view emerged in which it was
clear that humans inhabited a globe. The time of speculation was over and
this may be said to have been the first step in the development of a Global
Brain.
The next pair of Venus transits approximately coincided with the emergence
of the first national mail services (Denmark, 1624; Sweden, 1636) and so
also seems to be associated with human communications. Written
communications between people, initially in certain countries, then became
routine even over long distances. The second in this pair of Venus transits
is the first that is known to have been observed by humans.
In the Venus transit of 1761 there is much information to be found. The
study of this event had long been prepared for by astronomers, who were
planning to use their observations as a means of measuring the distance to
the sun. This goal could however only be accomplished if observations were
made all around the world, and for this to happen astronomers in different
countries needed to collaborate.
The transit of Venus across the Sun was observed in 77 different places
ranging from Karesuando to Pondicherry including Tobolsk, Tahiti, Beijing
and Philadelphia. The point to realize here is that this was the first
international collaboration project ever in science. Never before had
scientists belonging to different national academies collaborated and it was
the Venus transit that compelled them to do so. It may in fact be asked if
this was the first international collaboration project of any kind, wherein
different nations collaborated as such.
Regardless, an important step was taken in bringing the planet together and
it was initiated through an impulse from the Earth's sister planet Venus.
Putting the idea of international collaboration into practice was a crucial
step in connecting the different peoples of the world.
The Venus transit in 1874 coincided with two very notable occurrences in the
development of the Earth into a Global Brain: The founding of the World Post
Union, and the completion of the Atlantic telegraph cable in the same year,
which both marked fundamental steps in the development of global
communications.
In 1874, moreover, Bell had his first idea of a telephone, which was
patented two years later. In this year it became possible, for the first
time, for people to routinely communicate around the globe as rapid means
for this were developed. Needless to say, today's Internet would not have
been possible without these preparatory steps in the development of global
telecommunications.
Considering the occurrences accompanying these earlier Venus transits, and
the steps forward in global communications and the evolution of the global
brain that these have entailed, it is timely to ask what will happen as the
next one takes place in 2004. What events and changes will accompany this? A
fundamental difference compared to previous transits is the advanced state
of global communications that now already exists. Hence, almost everyone in
the world will, through newspapers, letters, telephones and the Internet,
have advance notice of this Venus transit. The new steps forward on the path
of humanity will be taken within the framework of the Global Brain with its
nerve threads, i.e. the telecommunications network, that already exist.
Although this development of the Global Brain has been favoured by the
energies of the katuns (periods of 20 x 360 days = 19.7 years) in the Mayan
calendar in which the Venus transits have occurred, it is hard to avoid the
impression that the very transit of Venus across the sun has somehow served
to concentrate these energies and has sent an intensifying beam to planet
Earth. During the Venus transits the cosmic energies were thus strongly
amplified.
There are however many good reasons to believe that the Venus transit on
June 8, 2004, in contrast to at earlier times, will herald a development of
communications between human beings that is not based on technology. The
chief reason is that we are now at a stage, the Galactic Underworld in the
Mayan calendar, that favours the right brain half and the intuitive
faculties of our mind that are mediated by this. And so, we may expect that
the upcoming Venus transit will launch an era of communications utilizing
mental rather than electromagnetic fields.
This new field, unlike gravitation in the National Underworld and
electricity in the Planetary, will emerge as a synchronizing field of
consciousness favoring spontaneous flow rather than linear planning.
(Unfortunately it is not widely known that the different Underworlds in the
Mayan calendar determine what fields are open to human beings to use for
communications). Of course, this intuitive field may to some extent always
have existed, but following the upcoming Venus transit human awareness of it
will increase dramatically. This field favoring telepathic communication may
be the most important factor in bringing about a harmonizing effect on the
Global Brain. It is primarily mediated by the right brain half that at the
current stage is favored by the cosmos, and may be the field of
communication that turns the Earth into a new being, Gaia harmonica.
It seems obvious to a lot of people that the number of synchronicities
(someone calling just when you think of him or her, etc) has increased
sharply in recent times. Yet, these are really only weak premonitions of the
full effects of the telepathic field that will now emerge. If a sufficient
number of people become connected through this field we may expect that they
will be able to harmonize their activities in a much more natural way than
is currently the case. To support the emergence of this is the whole point
with the Oneness Celebration. It may then be in its place to discuss the
relationship between telepathy and the Oneness Celebration of June 6-8,
2004. If the incorporation of a new field of intuitive mental communication
is the next step in the development of the Global Brain, how will this
affect us as individuals? Before going into this it should be recognized
that it is impossible to tell exactly what the effects of this emerging
field of telepathy will be.
(Imagine yourself a year before the first circumnavigation of the earth or
the first global telecommunications trying to grasp the consequences.)
In fact, the Oneness Celebration may be regarded only as the great opening
into this new field. Being able to see into, resonate with and connect to
the thoughts and minds of others must however have a host of consequences
that are difficult to predict in detail, but still important to ponder. To
many that are unprepared some of the changes may in fact be shocking or hard
to understand. Yet, if we imagine a world without secrets, where you and
others are unable to hide their thoughts from each other, and where we, in a
much more profound sense than currently, are all one, what would life be
like?
If intentions or thoughts can not be hidden in this strengthened field of
intuition an enormous amount of plotting against other persons, hidden
agendas, etc, would become useless. Manipulation would cease. Hostile plans
for deceiving others, in personal relations or in business, would loose
their effectiveness. Plans for hurting others through crime, terror or
warfare will become transparent. In general, it will be obvious to everyone
when someone puts his own interest above the larger whole. Of course, that
manipulative behavior or hidden agendas become clearly visible does not mean
that they immediately would cease, but clear visibility would give others
more of a choice as to how to relate to those with hidden motives.
Those that enter fully into this new field will themselves come to live in a
world that is much more joyous than previously. Honesty and truthfulness
will breed love. The downplaying of conflicts between them will allow them
to function harmoniously amongst themselves. If we are able to co-create
such a field we would start to become one in a very real sense. As we do,
relationships between different individuals, or groups of people, will start
to harmonize to a degree where it is obvious that hurting another is
tantamount to hurting yourself. At the present time, this idea, that hurting
someone else means hurting yourself however still has much the character of
a "nice thought", something that express how you think things "should be"
although they really are not. The added clarity of the new vision will alter
this.
The breakthrough of a new level of telepathic contact would also mean that
we add a new field of communication to the development of the Global Brain.
This field would bring harmony, since through this everyone would be attuned
to everybody else and to the purpose of the cosmic plan as well.
While there may remain limits to our ability to enter other people's minds,
it seems likely that our sensitivity to the existence of hidden
compartments, stored hidden agendas, etc., in others will increase
dramatically. Maintaining such will be a characteristic of those that choose
to see the world through duality and separateness. Of course, if other
people can read your thoughts and be certain about your intentions, many
would feel that they would loose something from this. This would include
many that have judgmental thoughts about themselves and so want to hide
parts of their inner reality. In fact, many whose intentions are not aligned
with the higher good of all will probably avoid breaking through into
Oneness. While it seems obvious that even in the short term the survival of
planet Earth will be favoured by human beings getting to know how to utilize
more extensive fields of telepathic contact, this would have implications
that not everyone is likely to desire.
As should be obvious from the initial discussion Venus transits may be alone
among astronomical events to have a track record that associates them with
major steps in the development of the Global Brain. (The completion of the
Atlantic telegraph cable in 1874 may for instance be seen as the creation of
a kind of corpus callosum connecting its Western and Eastern Hemispheres).
Because of this track record the Oneness Celebration at this Venus transit
is not just another one in a number of global meditations that for different
reasons have been proposed in recent years. Rather, previous ones, most
notably the Harmonic Convergence or Harmonic Concordance, may be regarded as
preparatory for the Oneness Celebration, the Venus transit of June 8, 2004.
This will carry the major breakthrough in the development of a new
telepathic field on planet Earth, and the co-creation of this is a
pre-requisite for attaining the Enlightened state of Oneness by the time the
next in this pair of Venus transits occurs on June 6, 2012. For all those
wanting to help birth Gaia harmonica, the new harmonious Global Brain, the
Oneness Celebration is the time to do it.
Now, of course, some will say that this field will just emerge regardless of
what we do. "Did not the Venus transit in 1518 trigger the first
circumnavigation of the Earth without this transit even being known to the
world?" some may ask. Well, maybe we should not be so sure that our own
participation is irrelevant. After all, what it is all about at the upcomin
occasion is the emergence of a mental field that it is we, the human beings,
that are the carriers of. It is entirely possible that a conscious
participation and awareness is needed this time around. Maybe in fact those
that participate fully in such a way as to receive the new light to the
right brain half will be the "meek who will inherit the Earth".
What seems likely is that those that truly want to live in accordance with
the harmonizing new field of Gaia harmonica should take the opportunity of
absorbing the energy of the Venus transit fully and create such a field
amongst themselves. This absorption includes the communication in our own
individual brains between the logical left brain and the intuitive right
brain, where it is now the latter that will be strengthened. And so, while
it is possible that the new field will be there regardless of what we do, it
is possible that to get an entrance ticket we need to act as co-creators.
Integrating this intuitive field and unifying the mentalities of the brain
halves, we may also surmise, are pre-requisites for attaining the
Enlightened state in the years ahead. Although there are a few that may
already have attained this state as individuals, in the case of the Venus
transit we are talking about a major collective push towards that state;
Mass Enlightenment.
Really, what the Oneness Celebration means is a choice, a choice as to
whether to continue living as a separate individual or to harmonize your
life with the greater whole, the Oneness of Gaia harmonica, which fully
experienced is Enlightenment. The upcoming Venus transit will thus present
us, individually and collectively, with a very important choice to
participate or not to participate. To enter the new field or remain in
duality. Telepathy is a meaningless concept if it applies only to a single
individual. Only if a significant number of people break through to this new
field of communication will any individual, in the full meaning of the word,
be able to attain the state of Enlightenment. Thus, there is a need for a
collective breakthrough into the new telepathic field of communication.
There has been some wondering among people why the changes brought about by
the Galactic Underworld (which began Jan 5, 1999) have, thus far, seemed so
relatively minor. Maybe we have now found the reason - that this is that
this Underworld has not yet been activated by a beam of a Venus transit.
Both the National and Planetary Underworlds had activating Venus transits in
their very first katuns, and one name used for the Mayan Long Count
(National Underworld) was in fact the Birth of Venus. In the Galactic
Underworld, we have had to wait until the Third Night for this to happen.
The Venus transit of June 8, 2004 may be what really activates the new level
of consciousness on.
This overall purpose of the Oneness Celebration of birthing a new field of
telepathic communication has consequences for the type of meditation that we
should conduct during this occasion. If we are open to letting Gaia develop
a new field of telepathic contact, then the focus of the meditation should
be to open ourselves up to this. Given that it is the right brain half, in
resonance with the Eastern Hemisphere, that primarily will mediate this new
field then this fact must be taken into account in shaping your meditation.
If we, in a meditative alpha state with eyes closed, visualize Light, Cosmic
Intelligence, entering through our right brain, and then let this form an
infinite loop including the left brain for a sustained period during the
Venus transit, then this would mean that we could enter the new field of
telepathic contact. If this happens we will eventually come to live in a
completely open and honest world, free of conflicts. This love may be ours
if we are open to the harmonizing effects of the new field!
Certainly, if a world of extended intuitive awareness seems like a welcome
possibility to you, we urge you to network this idea and start making
presentations on a regular basis to friends and anyone you may be in contact
with. There is no money to gain and there is no money to loose, but a new

We are becoming so fearful for the future of humankind that many of us are losing our understanding of how we create it all – all of it – and this we must correct with great haste and a new focus.

We are afraid to speak, to listen, to write, to read...We fear going out, staying in, going to work, staying home...We are being entrained that terror is everywhere around us, lurking, waiting to snatch us from whatever false sense of ‘security’ is being forcibly constructed by the power – forgetting that the only place that it will ever exist is WITHIN US.

So many of you write to tell me I am courageous and brave bringing forward the messages of the Council. There is no question of courage here. There is no heroism. There is simply work to be done and this, apparently, was my assignment. Yours is no less important. Each of us, every being on this planet, has a part in this play.

If you truly are LightWorking at this pivotal point of earth affairs, then by the GODS – I call upon you to move into the power zone – fearlessness – and collect your thoughts. Raise your voice. Discover your mission and move swiftly, now, into the action zone.

It is not enough to ask ‘the Universe’ to rearrange reality – You are the Universe.
It is not enough to sit by, watching the others march in the streets, fearing persecution if you dare go there.... you are the other.

On levels you may have yet to understand, this is as much your karma as it is of those directly involved, which is why you made the cosmic appointment to take part in the great events unfolding on Planet Earth at this time. And so, we ask you to peer boldly into the dark corners, rather than fear the unknown and the ‘unthinkable’ – for there is no better way to truly heal and move past the shadow.

We encourage you to overcome your blanket denial of what seem to be insurmountable evils, for you can and do affect change and alter reality in every moment of your lives. This you do most effectively when you are operating in the light of conscious awareness.

You must never lose sight of that.

THE COSMIC ITCHING POWDER

There's a reason... and it might not be what you think.

This is a very scary story. If The Invasion of the Body Snatchers
made you squeamish, then don't continue. Put this down now and
forget about it. Heed my warning --- this story is so strange
that it should not be told to the weak at heart. Its about
science, technology, stress, intolerance, sickness, and the
invasion of the cosmic itching powder. Fasten your seatbelt.
You're about to embark upon a voyage into the bizarre. But most
of all, remember...

It's out there right now. Invisible and silent. The cosmic
itching powder is doing it to you.

Science fiction? Unfortunately not.

Most social scientists recognize the stress that humanity is
experiencing. Only a few have hypothesized that it is being
caused by the systemic effect of electropollution. This is the
theory of the cosmic itching powder. I admit that its a somewhat
untraditional theory. In fact, most people consider it simply too
fantastic to be possible. It is, however, a theory grounded in
generally accepted scientific principals, and represents a
synthesis of many ideas developed by other scholars.

Deep beneath the surface of the Earth is a spinning core of
molten iron. This rotational energy creates a dipole magnetic
field around the planet similar to a bar magnetic. Our compass
registers a north and south pole.

Ninety-three million miles away, the sun is emitting lethal
high-energy atomic particles. These particles, often called the
solar wind, travel through space and crash into the magnetic
field of the Earth. The impact creates a strong magnetic field
distortion. The resulting structure of the Earth's magnetic field
is known as the magneto-sphere.

The Earth's magneto-sphere protects us from the deadly radiation
emitted by the sun. Without it, life could not exist. On the side
of the planet closest to the sun, the magnetic field is
compressed by the impact of the solar particles, and on the side
away from the sun, the field stretches out into a long tail. The
result is that most solar radiation is either trapped in the
Earth's own magnetic field, or diverted harmlessly around and
away from the Earth.

As the Earth rotates to produce a twenty-four hour day-night
cycle, the magnetic field at any given location changes (.2 - .6
gauss). During the day, the magnetic field is compressed, and at
night, it is diminished. The rise and fall of the magnetic field
corresponds to our biological rhythms.

Observing our own circadian rhythms makes it clear that we are
somehow synchronized with the rotation of the Earth. In fact, it
may be possible that life itself evolved as a result of Earth's
fluctuating magnetic energy field. Complex organic molecules can
exist in two mirror-image forms... a left-hand and right-hand
molecule. When we create these compounds in a test tube, we
always get a fifty-fifty mix. All living organisms, however,
contain only one kind. Recent magnetic techniques have
successfully produced all left or all right-handed molecules. It
may be that magnetism played a role in the creation of the first
DNA... the origin of life.

In addition to the twenty-four hour cycle, there are several
other weaker magnetic cycles. As the solar wind crashes into
Earth's magnetic field, billions of watts of energy are released
in the form of ionizing radiation and other electromagnetic
radiation. Some of the radiation becomes trapped in the Earth's
magnetic field, and begins to bounce back and forth between the
magnetic North and South poles. These extremely weak magnetic
ducts make up the background radiation of the Earth. This
radiation is always present, and roughly corresponds to the
dimensions of our planet. The Earth itself is resonant at about
ten hertz, and this is the prominent frequency in the natural
background radiation.

Prior to the twentieth century, all electromagnetic radiation was
of natural origin. The biosphere was an ocean of weak
micropulsations. Organic life evolved in harmony and
synchronization with the energy fields that existed. They
provided the pulse for the evolution of life.

For thousands of years, we developed in the presence of these
organic energy fields. The Earth was a part of us, and we were
able to feel its heartbeat. Our bodies and minds were
synchronized with the energy cycles of our natural environment.
The entire biological organism evolved in the presence of these
fields. Gravitational changes from the moon created a
twenty-eight day lunar cycle. Magnetic changes from the rotation
of the Earth created a twenty-four hour circadian cycle. Our
brains became synchronized with the resonant frequency of the
Earth itself, a ten hertz magnetic wave created from the energy
from the sun. This alpha brain-wave frequency is associated with
feelings of relaxation, peacefulness and harmony.

We remained in communion with our environment until the beginning
of the twentieth century. As the "Electronic Revolution"
unfolded, the environment was bombarded by cosmic itching powder
--- non-natural electromagnetic radiation.

Sixty hertz power transmission lines criss-crossed the country,
and radio waves were beaming music into our homes. For the first
time in history, man-made emissions overpowered the low-level ten
hertz wave that had synchronized our brains since the dawn of
time. We gradually became lost... out of touch with our
environment. It was difficult to notice at first, and it didn't
happen suddenly.

We can't blame the government for what happened next. There is no
way the Federal Communications Commission could have known about
the deadly effects of the frequencies they assigned to the new FM
radio and television technology. Radio and television stations
sprang up across the country in metropolitan areas.
Unfortunately, the peak resonant frequency of the human body is
in the middle of the FM radio and television bands. Cancer became
a common disease.

Electropollution is out there. No scientific investigator would
deny this fact. Its measurable and quantifiable. The question is
how, and to what extent, does it affect us.

The most significant effect of electropollution has been to
produce chronic stress in all living organisms. This has had
profound effects on our total physical and mental well-being.
Physically, our immune systems are weakened and we are more prone
to disease. We have seen significant drops in fertility levels,
and increases in birth defects and impaired brain functioning.
Mentally, we are in a constant state of stress. Our rationality,
as a species, is in question. Humanity is stressed out.

Stress is a catalyst for intolerance, one of the most important
social issues facing the world. Intolerance often leads to
violence. We will always have ethnic, religious, and
philosophical differences. If we can learn to tolerate each
others differences, we may survive as a planet. If we don't, we
shall surely destroy ourselves.

The notion of an invisible energy force affecting us is not as
strange as it might first seem. Millions of women report similar
PMS symptoms during their twenty-eight day lunar cycle.
Electropollution acts like an itching powder, directly affecting
our subconscious mind... below our level of perception. It just
makes us edgy. Everyone is affected to some degree, but some
individuals appear to be more sensitive than others.

Electropollution levels in technologically advanced areas have
become so intense that they completely overpower the natural
background energy of the Earth. The result is that humanity has
lost its communion with the Earth. We have lost our feeling of
oneness with the planet, and we have allowed the poisons in our
environment to reach critical levels.

During the first half of this century, it became clear that
biological organisms are indeed physically sensitive to some
forms of electromagnetic radiation. Symptoms included burns,
fevers, eye cataracts, brain tumors, leukemias and chromosomal
abnormalities. The military established safety limits based on
the thermal heating effects of radiation (i.e., burns and
fevers). Other non-thermal effects were ignored, even though
their existence was well documented. In 1966, the American
National Standards Institute (ANSI) adopted the military
standards for civilian exposure in the workplace.

These standards were brought into question by the scientific
community almost immediately. In the early 70's, the Oregon
Health Sciences University, in conjunction with the Environmental
Protection Agency, found a significant correlation between the
incidence of leukemia in Portland and the intensity of FM radio
waves. The EPA took no action, but throughout the 70's,
scientists around the world reported finding significant
biological effects from very low levels of electromagnetic
radiation.

By 1980, the military and civilian standards were being
challenged. In order to quell the rising controversy, the U.S.
Air Force funded an expensive animal study to prove that chronic
exposure to low levels of electromagnetic radiation were not
dangerous. The laboratory rats were "gnotobiotic" animals,
delivered by cesarean section, and raised in a sterile
environment to be free from germs and viruses. The radiation
levels in the experiment were twenty times less than the military
and civilian safety standards. It was a shock to the entire
scientific community when the experimental group developed over
three times as many malignant tumors as the control group.
Electromagnetic radiation (the kind that you're being exposed to
right now), can cause or trigger cancer.

In 1986, the Department of Public Health in Honolulu learned that
cancer rates were higher in nearly every area where a broadcast
tower was located. No action was taken by the State of Hawaii.

By 1988, researchers at the University of Texas had found that
electric-power company workers had an incidence of brain tumors
thirteen times that of the normal population. The tumors were
specifically linked to the sixty hertz fields that the workers
were exposed to. This is the same sixty hertz field that emanates
from the power lines around the country. In 1991, two Swedish
studies and one U.S. study again confirmed the link to cancer.

Over the past thirty years, many thousands of well-designed
research studies and replications have conclusively proved that
low levels of electromagnetic radiation have strong biological
effects on humans. The two most prominent effects are increases
in stress and cancers. We have also been able to identify changes
in brain neurochemicals and genetic abnormalities.

It turns out that all these effects are caused only by extremely
low frequency radiation. The ELF frequencies occupy a very narrow
portion at the bottom of the electromagnetic spectrum (0-100
hertz). These are the frequencies that the Earth uses to
communicate with her offspring. With the exception of lightning,
all natural electromagnetic emissions from the Earth are in the
ELF portion of the spectrum.

Human beings are receivers and transmitters of energy. Our cells
show the same crystalline properties of the earth we evolved
from. Crystals have the ability to manipulate energy. They can
convert, store, rectify and control energy. All living organisms
exhibit these same properties at macro and micro levels. In 1992,
scientists discovered microscopic magnetite crystals scattered
throught the human brain. This magnetic substance was the missing
link. It provided a possible answer as to how this communication
could be possible. Recent studies suggest a mechanism of action
involving cyclotron resonance where the magnetic energy field
concentrates its effect on biologically important ions, such as
sodium, calcium, potassium, and lithium.

Are non-ELF frequencies safe? No. It turns out that, regardless
of their frequencies, all man-made electromagnetic fields produce
the same biological effects. Radio waves and microwaves of all
frequencies are carriers of ELF signals. The ELF's modulate the
radio signals and "ride" them around the planet. The magnetite
crystals in the brain sense the changing electromagnetic energy
field, and through some yet unknown mechanism, the brain
demodulates the signal and responds to it.

The loud jungle of non-natural electropollution makes the signals
of the Earth and cosmos pale in comparison. We have literally
been cut off from our natural environment by the overpowering
bombardment of electromagnetic pollution. Non-natural
electromagnetic energy is everywhere on the planet. It is
generated by our technology. There's no place you can go to
escape from it.

It is not enough to simply identify societal problems. A good
theory must be able to provide solutions, or at least directions
for further study. The theory of the cosmic itching powder is no
exception.

Human sensitivity to electromagnetic radiation is a
well-documented fact. However, social policy makers will not
address the issue unless public pressure is applied.

The Environmental Protection Agency and the Federal
Communications Commission must join forces to re-evaluate the
current civilian exposure limits. New standards need to be
implemented that reflect current scientific knowledge. The
Surgeon General should issue a general health warning to the
public. These things will not happen, however, until the public
perceives the seriousness of the problem. The need for public
education is obvious.

The scientific community must initiate a full scale effort to
educate the public regarding this public health risk. The most
immediate need is to disseminate information on "practical
prudent avoidance techniques". These techniques involve taking
measures to avoid magnetic field exposure that entail little or
no cost. In other words, finding simple ways to reduce the dose
of radiation that we are exposed to.

Several steps can be taken to minimize ones risk from
electromagnetic energy. The goal is to reduce the total dose of
radiation that we are exposed to. This involves minimizing both
the duration and levels of the exposure. The appendix contains a
list of practical prudent avoidance techniques that the reader
can implement for their own personal safety.

The technology for long term solutions to this problem is
available now. It will not be implemented without intense public
pressure. Major corporate and military entities control the power
switch.

1. Use cable and direct satellite broadcasts to replace existing
radio and television transmitting towers. These towers produce
very strong energy fields for distances up to a half mile. Most
could be readily converted to cable or satellite. Satellite
repeaters cover wide geographic areas and produce very low energy
power levels on the ground. They can provide a relatively safe
public communications system. Shorter term solutions involve
restricting transmitter power levels and possible blackout times.
The goal is to reduce the total ambient radiation.

2. Convert the basic structure of the entire national power
system. The production and distribution of energy is in the hands
of powerful corporate entities. They will not willingly release
their monopolistic concerns. Photovoltic, wind, and other
renewable energy sources can be used to replace our nationwide
transmission power grid. This dispersed type of energy generation
structure will reduce (or eliminate) the need for high-voltage
long-distance transmission power lines. The cost of the
technology to accomplish this conversion is currently competitive
with public utility rates.

Nearly everyone agrees that our society is stressed. The systemic
effect of electropollution directly affects our feeling of
well-being. We can reduce our stress level by reducing our
exposure to electromagnetic radiation. The next time that you
drive out of the city, notice what happens to your stress level
as you get further away from the high intensity radiation of the
metropolitan area.

Unfortunately, there's an even darker side to this theory.
Electropollution is destroying society as we know it. It may be
producing either evolutionary changes or extinction of the human
species.

Hays examined the magnetic field reversals of our planet's
history and found that many species became extinct following
these magnetic anomalies. The great "die-outs" were somehow
linked to the disruption of the magnetic fields that existed
during the evolution of the species. The dinosaurs were part of
the last great extinction during the Cretaceous geological era.
During each magnetic field reversal, the most advanced species
were the most affected.

Scientists have proposed two possible explanations. One is that
magnetic field reversals were accompanied by changes in the
Earth's ELF background radiation, thus causing modifications in
behavior that reduced the survival efficiency of the more
advanced species. The other is that the magnetic changes caused
genetic alterations, resulting in defective offspring. Both
theories may be correct.

The natural geological magnetic field reversals of the past are
dwarfed by the electropollution created by modern society. We
cannot afford to neglect this problem any longer, for if we do,
humanity may follow the footsteps of the dinosaurs.

Appendix

Electromagnetic Radiation Practical Prudent Avoidance Techniques

Many studies have found that even short exposures to field
strengths of 3-milligauss will produce biological effects.
Leading researchers suggest that continuous exposure to a sixty
hertz power levels should not exceed energy levels of
1-milligauss. All of the following "practical prudent avoidance
techniques" will result in exposure levels that meet this
requirement.

1. The use of electric blankets should be discontinued because of
the high magnetic field strengths and the length of exposure.
Electric razors, hair dryers, and curling irons also produce
high-strength magnetic fields, and although the exposure is of
much shorter duration, their use should be discouraged.

2. Position yourself at least four feet away from the television.
Many people are already taking this precaution after having heard
about the ionizing radiation being emitted from the television
screen. This radiation described in this paper is different, and
is being produced by the electronics within the set itself.

3. Maintain a distance of two and a half feet from your computer
video-display terminal. Models built before 1982 give off
substantially higher levels of radiation and should no longer be
used. If possible, install an ELF filter on the video monitor.

4. Avoid long exposures to fluorescent lights. Maintain a
distance of three to four feet from overhead fluorescent light
fixtures. Stop using floor and desk lamps that contain
fluorescent bulbs.

5. If your home utilizes electric baseboard heaters, position
your furniture and bed at least three feet away. Use the same
precaution for small electric space heaters.

6. Do not use hand-held cellular phones, portable phones,
walki-talkies, or any other hand held transmitting devices. The
problem is that the power radiated from the antenna is very close
to the brain. If you must use any of these devices, limit your
exposure to the minimum duration possible. Car phones that have
an external antenna are usually okay because the occupants are
shielded by the metal of the car.

7. Avoid prolonged exposure to all plug-in type electric motors.
These produce extraordinarily high magnetic fields for several
feet. Bedside electric clocks should be removed since they emit
strong magnetic fields near your brain while you sleep. (Digital
or battery operated clocks are not dangerous.) Run dishwashers
only when you are not in the kitchen.

8. Turn all electric appliances "off" when not in use.

9. If you live near a radio or television transmitting tower, or
near a high-voltage power line... move. Unfortunately, there is
no cost-effective shielding for the strong electromagnetic fields
emanating from these sources.
